Several colors of the new Letraset metallic ProMarkers that are featured in May What's New, were not available at the time of the initial shipment, so we are currently out of the following markers:

Dear Retail Partner,

I am writing to let you know that we have unilaterally instituted with all of our retailers a Minimum Advertised Price policy, effective January 1, 2008.  We are requiring as a condition of doing business with us that you not advertise R&F paints and tools at a discount greater than 20% off list. This includes advertising that:

• Specifically names R&F paints or accessories
• Includes an image of our paints or accessories
• Refers to encaustic or oil sticks as a category, even it if does not specifically mention or show our paints

This requirement refers only to the advertised price. You are free to sell our paints at whatever price you choose.

We appreciate your understanding of our concerns and look forward to the continuation of a fruitful business relationship with you.

CANSON AT THE PLEIN AIR EVENT

The Plein Air Event was held in Las Vegas this month. Featured were seminars ranging from techniques on painting to how to sell & market your art work.

Scott Bates  - Canson Western Sales Rep, had the following comments:

"...We had an amazing booth that was at the main entrance of convention and we were by far the busiest booth there. We had sketch pads, Pastel pads, Arches Blocks, Rembrandt Pastel sets, Rembrandt Oil sets, the new Arches Oil paper and Cobra Rembrandt Oil.

The huge hits of the show were Cobra and Arches Oil paper. I was surprised at the number of professional painters that are using Cobra.

Arches Oil paper was also a huge hit.  One artist who is very well known is Alexey Steele. Alexey did a light wash on the paper and then did a sketch. He had not used the paper before and was amazed with the quality of the paper for oil and as a sketch paper. Alexey was also not shy in telling everybody how much he liked the paper, and that it would be the only paper he would going forward..."

Art Alternatives New Studio Acrylics Available in all DC's Now

Suwanee is our last warehouse to receive the 6 new Art Alternatives Studio Acrylic colors and they are placing them in inventory today.  The 6 new colors are Magenta, Warm Red, Burnt Sienna, Yellow Ochre, Warm Yellow, and Phthalo Green and they are available in both pint and half-gallon bottles.  The new pint bottles are made of crystal clear PET to better show the true intensity and hue of the colors.

(AT) Artograph Lightpad Availability

Due to the increasing popularity of Artograph's lightpads, availability of the 9x12, 12x17 and 17x24 sizes from the vendor will be delayed for about 4 weeks (items# AT225-930, AT225-940, AT225-950.) At this time, there is no delay in the availability of the 6x9 size, item# AT225-920. Please place your backorders accordingly.

Deeper drop ship discounts on Art Alternatives chip and pulp boards

The drop ship discounts on AA75416 MODELING PULP BD 30X40 1/16 and AA75415 ARCHITECTURL CHIP BD 30X40 130 have increased.  The discount on AA75416 has increased from 70% to 75% and AA75415 has gone from 55% to 60%.

Additionally, the every daydiscount for the pulp board out of the warehouses has increased from 50% to 60%.
